Rua Augusta Arch
The triumphal arch between the square and the Baixa grid: the first hundred metres of every race run under it.
- About
- Finished in 1875
- On race night
- The first roar of the night
The arch was planned after the earthquake and finished more than a century later. Its clock faces the Baixa; its statues look out over the square.
Every race starts by running through it, and every race ends by running back.
